Summer fun

The weather's been hot here and we've been taking advantage of it.  Here's some of our latest fun:

Finally

It's been over 3 1/2 years in the making, but Acadia finally let me put pigtails in her hair! 

Rylan's first haircut

I finally took Rylan to get a real haircut.  I've cut his hair a couple of times, but he was definitely in need of professional help.  It was getting a little long in the back and I didn't think he would sit still for me.  While I'm glad I did it, I do miss the longer hair and younger look.  Now he really looks like  a big boy!

It amazes me how big both Acadia and Rylan have gotten.  Especially lately.  They run. They climb.  They don't sit still for anything.  I keep telling myself they're keeping me young, but the gray hairs keep popping up! 

What we've been up to

Everytime I check the blog I can't believe how long it's been since my last post.  Life is just busy and the endless pile of laundry always seems to win our over posting pictures.  Here's some recent ones of the fun we've been having.

The Derby

Last weekend the girls headed to Kentucky for the Derby.  Yes, it was fun!  Here's just a few pics from our fun...

Happy Birthday Rylan!

Today Rylan turns 2!  I still can't believe it.  It's been a crazy two years but I wouldn't trade it for anything! 

We're going to celebrate tonight with presents, cake, and pizza, but we still managed to have some fun this morning...


Acadia couldn't wait to sing Happy Birthday to Rylan!  I know this picture is super fuzzy, but it still was so cute! 

Rylan slept in this morning (a little present to me!) and was full of energy when he got up.  I took the kids to a playplace nearby so they could run some it off!

He loves the bounce house and especially loves squishing his nose on the netting to see me.  He's growing up, but he's still a mama's boy (and I'm ok with that).

Since Rylan loves trains and Thomas, I decided to make him a Thomas cake.  It didn't start off all that well, but I think it turned out ok in the end.  It's amazing what frosting can do!

Happy Birthday to Rylan!  No matter how big you get you'll always be my baby!
