Who knew...

-that a baby could have enough gas to rival her parents

-that an exercise regimen can consist of carrying a baby around all day and pacing the hallway at night

-that it doesn't matter if your jeans fit (hopefully they will one day)

-that a tired baby might not sleep

-that a tired daddy sleeps through it all

-that a tired mama hears every stir, squeal, and hiccup

-that a cup of coffee can make you feel human again

-that you can go all day and never talk in a grown up voice

-that a clean diaper doesn't stay clean for very long

-that after 9 months, one glass of wine can give you a hangover

-that a 30 second shower can be a luxury

-that washing your hair is even more of one

-that a good night's sleep consists of a lot of it being spent on the couch

-that there would be a whole new vocabulary in our world (baba, diapey, and mimi to name a few)

-that there was so much to say about poop

-that it doesn't matter how you look walking out of the house, as long as your child looks good

-that a little smile from your daughter can make all the difference

-that even after being a mom yourself, sometimes you just need your mom

-that life could be this good

Two months down...a lifetime to go!

Cutest Pumpkin in the Patch

Today was a beautiful fall day, and what better way to spend it than at the local pumpkin patch. It was a great place, and Scott took some amazing pictures...

Here's a funny story that happened while we were there...

There were a lot of people picking pumpkins when we got there so we waited to take Acadia's picture...didn't want anyone mistaking her for a pumpkin and stepping on her! It cleared up after a while so we took a few shots while we could. Turns out the reason it cleared out was because Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were there! Scott and I found it pretty funny that we were too busy looking at our cute peanut to notice!

Too cute for words

Here's just a few of our favorite new pictures of Acadia. As you can see, she's getting so big!

Pictures of Our First Place

A number of you have been asking to see some pictures of our new place (long overdue). We still have a fair bit of work to do still but it already feels like home to us. There are 4 units in the building and ours is the duplex unit on the left (top two floors).

Are you ready for the tour?

Walk into the front door and up the stairs through 2 doors and the official tour begins

Living Room

Dining Room

Time to walk down the hallway
To the left is the 1st bathroom and to the right is a built-in hutch that we love

Breakfast Nook & Computer Room

Across from the nook is the Acadia's Room

The Kitchen

Time to Go Upstairs

To the right is the laundry room and attic storage. To the left is the master bedroom. It's hard to capture in pictures but the master bedroom is about 500 square feet and is our next project. It's hard to believe but our first place together in Chicago was about 50 square feet larger.

Master Bedroom

That's pretty much it and we can't wait until you visit. Cheers
