Tired Birthday Girl

Firsts

Yesterday, Acadia did something for the first time...

Before I tell you though, you should have a little history.

Acadia is a daddy's girl. Sure, she loves her mama, but if Scott is home it's him she wants. She'll brush her teeth for him. She'll sit for a diaper change. Neither of which she does for me. She also wants him to read her books, play with her and all sorts of other things.

Well, Scott was out of town over the weekend so it was me and only me. We had our moments, but all in all she was really good. I got to read her stories and put her to bed. We got to dance together. We had a lot of laughs.

When Scott came home yesterday I was sure it was all over. Acadia did want to do a lot with her daddy, but she still wanted to dance with me and I even got to read her a few stories (with some help from Scott).

Scott had to put her to bed since I had to get Rylan fed and off to bed himself. So before I went upstairs with him I said good night to Acadia and told her I loved her.

And she said, "you too". My heart melted.


Acadia also picked her nose for the first time over the weekend, but that story's just not as sweet.

Vacation and Visitors

At the end of July, Scott and I flew with the kids to northern Wisconsin to see his parents. The weather was great, the water was warm, and everyone had a great time!


Grandma and Grandpa Vogel got some much needed quality time with the kiddos...



Acadia practically lived in the water for the 5 days we were there...



She also LOVED Paul Bunyan's breakfast...but who doesn't love all you can eat. I think the donuts were her favorite!



And the scenery was beautiful!




When we got home, we had one day to catch up then my Dad and Lyn came to visit. It was the first time they got to see Rylan so it was super special.











Can't wait to see everyone soon!
