Calling all moms

So Scott and I headed to Babies R Us this past weekend to start our registry. Can you say overwhelmed! We plan to do this in phases since you can only spend so much time in that store without losing it or becoming completely confused.

So I'm wondering...does anyone have suggestions for what to get that's good, what's not so good and what's just plain a waste?

Any suggestions are welcome!!

I have two tips!

Get the book - baby bargains. I pretty much registered for all of their recommendations and was really happy with them. They usually have one recommendation in each overall price range and then an overall recommendation and they also grade pretty much every model out there in case you had your eye on something in particular. I think the name of the book is deceptive bc it really isn't about bargains in alot of cases, it is about the best value - sometimes the best value is the most expensive one and sometimes it isn't.

Also, ask other moms to critique your list. I took a girlfriend to lunch and we went through my list one by one for her to tell me what I did need, didn't need, needed more of, etc. It was SUPER helpful and I'm happy to do it for you. Too far away from lunch but I can look online!

Oh - and do it online. The store freaks me out - its too big!!

I thought Land of Nod had some cute bedding too if you don't find something you like at Babies R Us

Definitely try to get items for all stages such as different high chairs (one that can go on a regular chair for traveling or when they get older), and test drive important items like strollers, etc. It's hard to see how easy they are to use if you haven't physically tried them. You'll do great! No worries:) Baby websites are chalk full of checklists so start with one of those and go from there:) We're here if you have any questions!
