It's Skyline Time

Grandma & Grandpa Vogel sent us a care package which contained a lot of goodies. Within the box were some cans of Skyline Chili (Cincinnati Chili) and bibs for all of us.

Needless to say it was an exciting moment for Acadia to try Skyline for the first time, so we had to document the moment with a video.

I can't wait to take her to a Red's game and have her try Graeter's ice cream!

Happy Valentine's Day!

From our little love bug...

Family Weekend of Fun

Everyone is finally healthy around here so we busted out and spent some time away from home.

Saturday we took a trip to the Children's Museum in Boston and Sunday we went swimming at the local YMCA.

I took Acadia a while back to the museum, but she just started walking so we couldn't do that much. Not this time! She had a blast playing in all the different exhibits. She played with puzzles, chalk, and just had fun running around.

Of course, we had to do something very important when we first got there...eat!

Acadia was such a big girl she didn't want to hold either of our hands and just wanted to do things on her own.

Sunday all three of us went to family swim at the Y. It's been awhile since we've done that so it was fun. Good to know that Acadia still loves the water. Since we were all in the pool we don't have any pictures, but Acadia smiled and laughed the whole time.

Her new thing is to play "dress up". Acadia will go in her drawers and pick out things she wants you to put on her. Well, she must have really liked her bathing suit because she wanted to put it on over everything! This is from yesterday, though today she wanted the same thing. We might have a pro wrestler here with this outfit!

Large and in charge

For those of you wondering what I look like these days...

Our little fashionista?

Between all the snow and then a round of colds, we've spent the past few weekends indoors. It's definitely been fun seeing how Acadia stays entertained.

Acadia has a style all her own (like mother like daughter?). Most days she'll wear her coat inside, even if it's 80 degrees in there. She's also got a thing for shoes...notice the aqua shoes she has on. And I do try to put pants on her, but sometimes she's just too quick getting away from me.

Acadia also likes my purse, though I think she is more intrigued by what she might find in there. She probably thinks there's food hiding somewhere in it.

She's had a cold the past few days so we've had some all day pajama days. These are some of my favorite jammies...she looks so big in them!

And while I love this picture, the funniest part of it is what you don't see. See, Acadia is also fighting off some diaper rash, so this shirt is literally all she had on.

Thankfully she's feeling much better so hopefully we'll be able to get out (and put some clothes on her) next weekend.

Adventures in snow

Last weekend we took advantage of all the snow we've gotten here (over 2 feet!) and went snowshoeing with Acadia. No she doesn't have her own pair, at least not yet. Scott just carried her in her backpack. We all had a great time!

"Mom, Dad, I'm ready!"

Scott loved showing Acadia the snow too. He could have stayed out forever too!

I had fun too, though after the trek I realized that maybe going snowshoeing up a hill while six months pregnant might not be the best idea. I was a little tired after all of it!

Acadia relaxing on the way home.

I think being outdoors gave Acadia more energy instead of making her tired. All she wanted to do was play when we got home!

Happy New Year?

What a start to the new year it's been!

New Year's Eve was great. We had another couple over with their son since we knew none of us would really be doing much of anything. Acadia even fell asleep before we all had dinner. We hung out, laughed and just had fun.

Saturday it was 50 degrees and sunny! We got out and enjoyed it and took a long walk at a local beach. I made an easy dinner from leftovers and Scott and I even stayed up to watch a movie!

Fast forward to about midnight when everything changed. I was up almost every 20 minutes from about 12:00-8:00 not feeling well. At first it was just something I ate, but I quickly realized it had to be something else. I literally stayed in bed all day and wasn't able to eat or drink much of anything. I figured it would only be a 24 hour bug since that seems to be what's going around, so I went to bed and planned on a usual Monday at home. That didn't happen. Scott ended up staying home from work to take care of both Acadia and me. Since we don't have any back-up here we had no one else to call. Luckily Tuesday we were able to take Acadia back to daycare and Scott could go to work. I was hoping to make it back to work, but no such luck. Another day in bed, but at least I was able to eat a little bit.

I'm lucky that today I'm working from home as I don't know if I could have made the commute in. I'm hoping after another good night's rest and just relaxing during the day I kick this thing (whatever it is). I also go to my doctor on Friday for a checkup which will be a nice reassurance that this kiddo growing in my belly is just fine. I'm sure he/she is just a little little hungry and wondering when the food's coming back.

As you can imagine though, Acadia fared just fine with her Daddy. I could hear her giggles from upstairs. That made me both happy and sad. Happy that she got such great quality time with Scott, but sad that I couldn't be part of it. I'm sure we'll have lots of fun this weekend though...that is after we clean up from the mess we've created this week!
